Northern Lights

If there's ever a doubt of where it is

It's in forgotten things

like ski locks

and midnight shots

big old cars

and closing bars

frequent flyer miles

and computer files

Chicks, ladies, broken heart distress

I lost the thread there

drowned it in beer and more than one kindness

(a fire ) unknown elsewhere

We used to think that the day would never come

to move beyond being just the son

but summer breaks in just like thunder

the midnight hour in awe and wonder

Bright Laughter take to the wheel

Dawn break your future will reveal

your own flame make sure to remain

the Northern Lights our soul will retain
